Just Jump
Thoughts. Experiences. Inspiration.
One of my favorite memories as a mom is sharing an evening with my oldest daughter, Sara. On this particular night we decided to walk to the grocery store. Not sure why, just spontaneously walked to our local market. On the way back, Sara decided to jump the fence from the corner gas station that backed to our apartments. I remember her saying to me, "Mom come on." Girly, and worried about who would see me, I in true Virgo fashion, began to think about all the things that could go wrong. What if I fall? What if I hurt myself? What if the neighbors see? Finally after seeing how effortless she jumped without hesitation I decided to trust her and go for it. Sure I never jumped a fence in my life. I did not know what to expect, didn't have time to prepare, but I jumped. Although I took a little tumble, we laughed so hard, and in that moment I connected with her. We really needed that time, those memories. I think about that often. In life sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith. Welcome to Nana-ish. My name is Kaiya, but you can call me Kay. Like you, I wear many hats, but it's the roles God aligned that I am most proud of, wife, mother and Nana. I welcome you to Come jump with me!
